Brian Silva joined the OnSite Health team in February 2023 and is a Physician Assistant (PA-C) at our OnSite Health employee primary care clinic in Ogden Utah, on the employer’s campus. We are excited to share his experience in the military and what he brings to OnSite Health.

1. What is Your Educational and Career Background?

My education and career background are a bit diverse. I recently retired from the U.S. Air Force. For 12 years, I was a Pararescueman and did a lot of special operations work. Then, I joined the Air Force Interservice Physician Assistant Program—one of the top ten schools in the nation for PAs—and earned my Master’s Degree. Then I went to Primary Care Practice at Halo Air Force Base, where I retired. After that, I wanted to seek out a different opportunity and I discovered OnSite Health.

2. What Inspired You to go into the Healthcare Field?

I wanted to make a change. I wanted to go into a healthcare system that truly cares about their patients and prioritizes their well-being and outcomes. Patients have questions and concerns about their health, so as a healthcare provider, it’s important to be an active listener and take the time to understand their concerns, needs, and preferences. At OnSite Health, I am able to provide patient-centered care and prioritize our patients’ healthcare goals and needs.

3. What is Your Role and Why Did You Choose to Work for OnSite Health?

Currently, I am doing a lot of roles. I’m taking on the roles of both a Medical Professional and a Physician Assistant. However, my main role is to provide adequate and high-quality care to my patients.

4. What are Some Benefits You’ve Seen for Employees Since Joining OnSite Health?

Many patients may not have seen a provider because of insurance reasons and could have ongoing health issues they aren’t aware of. OnSite Health primary care clinics provide convenient access to medical care for employees. This leads to better health outcomes, as employees are more likely to seek medical attention when needed. If an employee has a health issue, it can get worse in the future. Through educating employees, they seek treatment earlier, and prevent worsening health concerns.

5. What is Your Favorite Aspect of the Healthcare Industry?

My favorite aspect of the healthcare industry is the opportunity I have each day to make a significant impact on employees’ lives by supporting them throughout their healthcare journey. I get to help people live the lives they want to live.

6. What Do You Like to Do in Your Free Time?

Most of my time is devoted to spending time with my wife and four kids. I also love running the trails to get some fresh air in the beautiful state of Utah.
